Competition Guidelines

This page provides the detailed guideline for contestants taking part in the Splashers Challenge. Students interested in participating in the contest are advised to read them carefully for proper understanding of what is expected for them to effectively compete and win.

General Guidelines for the Competition

    Please read the following instructions carefully:
  • To be qualified or eligible to register for this contest, you must be an undergraduate of any tertiary institution in Nigeria
  • Deadlines for milestone events on the competition map must be strictly adhered to such as the registration close date and submission timeline
  • Any registrations or submissions after the stipulated time would not be accepted
  • A minimum of two projects must be carried out in any category
  • Contestant will be required to submit a zipped version of their projects anytime on or before November 30, 2008
  • Contestants are permitted to put in for both the web design or web application development categories as a single individual. Group/team work is disallowed on any project as any contestant engaged in such would be duely penalized and deemed disqualified subject to the Judges decision.
  • Contestants registering for both competition categories, would be required to register for the mandated projects under each respective competition category. This implies a minimum of four projects would have to be carried out by them
  • Note that once a topic has been chosen and submitted, such contestant would not be allowed to change their choice except a request is sent and a new topic is forwarded before the submission closing deadline to support@splasherschallenge.com

Terms and Conditions

    The terms and conditions for participating in the Splashers Challenge are as follows:
  • By participating in the competition, you agree to be bound by these rules and to all decisions of Splashers, which are final, binding and conclusive in all matters
  • Contestants must not cheat. All ideas for code and/or challenge submitted must be the contestant's alone. Splashers Challenge uses the word "cheat" to mean collaboration of any sort - including, but not limited to, working with another competitor, submitting code that was not fully authored by you, and using resources, software, etc. that are not allowed under the competition rules and guidelines. The Contest Administrators reserve the right, in its sole discretion, to remove any competitor from the tournament who it suspects has cheated
  • All decisions relating to the viability of submissions, the ranking of submissions and all other matters pertaining to the competition shall be within the sole discretion of Splashers Challenge Administrators or its designee and shall be final and binding in all respects
  • The Contest Administrators, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to disqualify any person tampering with the entry process, the operation of the Web site, the contest process, or any other activity that violates the rules of the contest
  • Note that Splashers reserves the right to change the rules and regulations at any time
