Web Application Category

Contestants putting in for the web application development category will be expected to write robust but user-friendly applications. Codes should equally be maintainable and portable as this would help to prove the flexibility of the application.

Contestants interested in the web development category will be required to carry out two mandatory projects:

1st (Compulsory) Project:: A Web-based Library Management System for higher institutions

2nd Project:: Any project of own choice

     Submission Guidelines
  • Have top level folder named “ROOT_YOURNAME”
  • Have 2 sub folders, DEVELOPMENT and DOCUMENTS under the “ROOT_YOURNAME”
  • Put all your codes in the ‘DEVELOPMENT” folder
  • Have a “readme.txt” file which includes instructions on how to setup your project.
  • Put “readme.txt” file in the “DOCUMENTS folder.
  • Put a backup of your database in the ‘DOCUMENTS” folder.
  • Create a specification.pdf file in the “DOCUMENTS” folder. This file should contain the complete specification of the project including but not limited to requirement specification, the various modules and interactions among the modules, the users and user roles(if any)
  • You may also create a schematic.pdf folder in the “DOCUMENTS” folder that contains a graphical representation of the business logic using UML or other appropriate tool and an ERD of the database
      Grading Points to be used by Judges is as given below:
  • Technology Adopted and Code Efficiency (25 points)
  • Commercial Applicability and Business Perspective (20 points)
  • Content and Navigability (20 points)
  • Originality of Work (20 points)
  • Portability (10 points)
  • Load time (5 points)
